Damon Page 4

Lisa walked off, and I felt completely confused. I turned to Damon, who was visibly annoyed by Lisa’s words.

“Who is Gabby?” I simply asked.

He looked around, and then to me.

“We don’t have much time. I’ll explain later. Basically, she was a girl I went out with because I thought it would work, but it was a mistake. She ended up hurting me, and she ruined any chance of me having a healthy relationship in the future. She was Lisa’s best friend, and she is going to be at the gala, too,” he said.

I felt bad for Damon in that moment. I could sense that this was something that ate away at him. I stepped towards him, holding my arms out to embrace him.

“It’s okay. Trust me on this,” I said to him.

I touched his hair, feeling him hold me there for a second.

I was glad that he wanted me by his side.

We made our way towards the limo, and I saw Lisa glaring at us as we left. Damon and I were going to the gala as friends. Nothing more, nothing less. Damon gave my ass a light smack as we climbed into the limo, causing me to gasp for a second, followed by a wry smile that spread across my face.

This kind of attention was what I enjoyed. As we sat next to one another, I could feel the heat between us growing. While neither of us were ready to make a move, I could feel the tension between us steadily building.

I felt his hand come dangerously close to my own, almost touching it. Slowly, it inched closer, until his hand was on my thighs, rubbing them teasingly. I leaned into the touch, enjoying it.

The drive to the gala was quiet, and when we arrived, we were immediately ushered inside. The security guard at the front door crossed off Damon’s name on the guest list and acknowledged me as his plus-one. He gave me a quick once over before letting me through the door. I figured it had to do with the fact that they were expecting him to bring some sort of supermodel eye candy, rather than someone like me.

When we got inside, we were met by a throng of people. Everyone looked so perfect, and I felt completely out of place as we walked through the crowd. Damon didn’t seem to care about any of it. He was chatting with a few people when suddenly, a man with long blonde hair and piercing green eyes approached us.

“Damon! So nice to see you. And who is this?” the man asked.

“This is Amber, she works for me now. Amber, this is Gabriel,” Damon said.

  “Oh? No Lisa?’

“Lisa couldn’t make it,” Damon simply muttered.

“I see. That makes sense. By the way, Gabby is here. She’s, uh...in the corner with a couple of people. I’d highly suggest you two avoid one another. If she gets word that Amber’s here, I don’t think it’ll be pretty,” Gabriel said.

“I know. That’s why I’m here to simply make my presence known, have a couple of necessary business conversations, and then leave. That’s it. I’m not getting involved in any drama,” Damon explained.

“I’m just here with him,” I said.

“I know, dear. You’re quite strong to come into the lion’s den looking like that. I’d say you’ve got some guts there, cutie,” the man said with a chuckle.

What the hell was that supposed to mean? I looked at Damon, who seemed to show no expression as Gabriel left.

  “That little shit,” he said.

“He was trying to make us feel bad, wasn’t he?” I asked.

“Yeah, that was the goal. There’s no sense in worrying about that. Let’s have a good night tonight. I do have to dismiss a few proposals from some of the other guests, but other than that, I think we can just make ourselves known to anyone new and then go from there. We don’t have to make a big deal out of any of this,” he said.

I already felt like it was a big deal, but I kept my wits about me and looked forward. I had to keep it together, to keep everything in place, and to not get hung up on what these rich people decided to do.

We talked to a few people here and there, and most of them barely acknowledged me. Damon always made an effort to let them know who I was, as if I mattered enough to be discussed in a space like this. After some time, a man walked over with a woman who was at least half his age. He looked at Damon, and then at me.

“Ah, Damon, there you are,” the man said.

  “Ryan,” Damon replied.

“Oh, and who is this?” Ryan asked.

“This is Amber. Amber, this is...Ryan and Gabby,” he said.

Uh oh. I could see the annoyance creep over Damon’s face. The woman standing across from us looked just like Lisa, except with way bigger boobs and a much faker feel to her. I felt dirty just looking at her.

“I’m surprised you came, Damon. I was going to ask if you were still seeing Gabby, but she told me the two of you broke up. I’m surprised,” Ryan said.

“Yeah, we’re not together anymore,” Damon said.

“That’s a shame. She’s one of my top employees, and she was thinking about a merger between the two companies,” he said.

I could see the obvious discomfort on Damon’s face. He wasn’t used to this type of interaction, and I felt the urge to step in. Even though I didn’t think it was the smartest thing to do, I suddenly spoke, surprising them.

“He’s not interested in those types of affairs. He’s actually quite happy with the way his company is, and with his love life,” I spat.

Ryan and Gabby looked over at me, and Damon’s eyes widened.

  “But Amber—”

“No, it’s very clear what she’s trying to do. She’s trying to step in because Lisa failed at getting your attention. It’s really kind of pathetic.” Gabby shouted.

“So, what? Are you going to blab to Lisa about this?” I asked her.

  She grimaced.

“And what do you know about Damon? You’re probably someone he brought along out of pity,” Gabby muttered.

“I know enough to know that you’re making him incredibly uncomfortable, and that you should probably quit while you’re ahead,” I said.

Gabby looked at me with shock, and then at Damon.

“So, what is she to you? Just another person to string along? You gonna do the same thing to her that you did to me?” Gabby snapped.

Did to her? what was she talking about?

“Come on Gabby, you know it’s not like—”

“Oh, come on, Damon! It’s obvious you’re scared of commitment. You rejected me all those years ago, and here you are, still single and scared of your feelings. You’re fine with seeing women as long as it doesn’t involve actually dating them. You’ve probably strung this girl along for years already,” Gabby snapped.

For a moment, I didn’t know what to say. I turned to Damon, whose face was hard. Were all of those touches, all of those flirtatious gestures, all of those nights we spent together alone in the office for nothing? I wanted to say something, but I didn’t know what to say.

“Oh, so now you’re quiet because I called you out on your shit. I just wanted to let this girl know how you really are before she gets any ideas about committing to you. You still don’t know how to commit, and I’m sure that you’re even scared right now as we speak,” Gabby said.

“That’s enough, Gabby. He clearly has no desire to follow through with any sort of action with us right now,” Ryan said.

I felt like I was caught in the line of fire, and Damon was eerily quiet. Did he feel the same way about me as I did for him?

Then, as if prompted, he finally spoke.

“Neither of you understand, do you? I do like this woman. In fact, I’m madly in love with her, and I had wanted to tell her in a more private setting, but I guess neither of you gave me a fricking chance to do so,” Damon snapped.

Wait, what? I turned to him, trying to read his face. He looked stern, as if this was the biggest decision of his life.

“You’re serious?” Gabby said, her eyes filled with surprise.

“Yes. I’m...I’m not going to stand here and lie through my teeth while you continue to insult me like
this. I love Amber, and I’ve been in love with her since the moment we met. I didn’t know that love at first sight could actually happen, but here I am, admitting my feelings. The reason why it didn’t work out with you Gabby was because you were only in it for yourself. You don’t give a rat’s ass about anyone else. You sat there, pretending to be supportive, when in reality you were just in it for the money. Well, I don’t want that,” Damon said.

Gabby looked surprised, but Ryan smiled.

“I assumed that was the case. I understand, Damon. You really do like her, don’t you?”

“Yes, Ryan, I do. No offense to your company in the least, but I think it’s better if I’m honest about my feelings,” he said.

“Very well. I’ll leave you be.”

He walked away with Gabby and I felt as though the entire room’s eyes were on us. Damon was stoic, but he grasped my hand and walked with me through the building until we got to the courtyard. When we arrived there, we sat down, and neither of us said anything for a minute.

“I think...I think it’s best to explain how I feel, right?”

“Yeah, that could help,” I said.

I felt confused. Did he really feel that way about me? I felt as though whatever was going through his head was much bigger than what he was admitting, and that it would only overflow as time progressed.

  Chapter 9—Damon

I can’t believe I had said those words.

I had felt prompted to say them in that moment, but I wished that I could’ve admitted my feelings to Amber in a more intimate setting. Now, I had to explain how I felt, and I could only hope that she wasn’t scared of me.

“Did you really mean what you said?” Amber asked.

“Yeah, I did. I really did, Amber,” I said to her.

“I wasn’t going to lie about my true feelings for you. I just couldn’t hold back anymore.”

After a moment, she sighed in relief.

“Good, because if you didn’t, I would’ve been pissed. I’ve heard the womanizer story one too many times,” she admitted.

  I laughed.

“The truth is, I’ve liked you for a long time, Amber. Really, ever since I met you, I couldn’t get you out of my head. Maybe that’s what they mean by “love makes you crazy;” it sucks you in and makes you too stupid to be upfront with your feelings, until you’re literally forced to face them,” I said.

She chuckled and leaned into me. She reached out and touched my hand. The gentle gesture made my heart race. She leaned her head on my shoulder, smiling.

“I’m really glad you feel the same way. I have feelings for you, too. I was very confused with all of the mixed signals you kept giving me. I didn’t know whether you were into me or not,” she admitted.

“Well, I’m very into you. I just suck at expressing my feelings,” I said.

There was a pause, and I could feel that Amber was trying to digest all of this. Suddenly, she spoke, addressing the obvious elephant in the room.

“What did Gabby mean about you being afraid of commitment? Was it the feelings, or something more?” she asked.

“When we dated, she was always demanding me to express my feelings, but it never felt right. When I found out that she had only dated me because she wanted my money, it crushed my heart. I was scared of expressing myself ever again, because what if the same thing happened with another person? I didn’t want to take that risk, so I kept my feelings all bottled up,” I explained.

“You don’t have to do that, you know,” Amber said.

“I realize it was pretty stupid. I’m just glad that I can admit my feelings to someone and not have them run away. I was a little scared you might do that,” I told her.

  She laughed, shaking her head.

“You’re going to have to work harder than that to scare me off. Plus, you’re weird, but it’s the right kind of weird. I feel like we get along because we can be ourselves around one another,” she said.

“You know, when first we locked eyes, I feared you’d ruin my life, but you didn’t. Instead, you’ve made it better,” she admitted.

“I have that effect on people,” I purred.

“Well you have that effect on me, that’s for sure.”

We both leaned in closer, looking into one another’s eyes. I felt the urge to kiss her, to make love to her, to show her how I felt.

“I love you, Amber. I really do. And I’m glad that you see me for who I am. I may not be the best at commitment or showing how I feel, but I’m willing to try to work on it with you. You’re worth it to me.”

“I...I love you too, Damon,” she replied.

I leaned in and kissed her lips. They were soft and succulent as my tongue explored hers. My hands moved to her hips, touching and caressing her curves, moving slowly down to her ass. I squeezed them firmly, causing her to let out a small gasp in surprise.

“Want to get out of here? She asked.

My lips curled into an appreciative smile.

  “I’d love that. Let’s go,” I said.

A few people stared at us as we left, but we ignored the looks. I truly was happy. I didn’t feel encumbered by the way others looked at me, and with Amber, everything felt right.

  Chapter 10—Amber

When we arrived at the limo, I could already feel his hand creeping up my leg and touching the middle of my thigh. The simple touch was enough to send shivers down my spine, and I let out a small, breathy sigh as his hand got dangerously close to my vagina, touching it slightly though the confines of my dress.

We had barely made it inside his house when he pulled me in, pressing me against the wall of the entryway and caressing my body. I let out a small moan, relishing the moment as he kissed me passionately. His tongue pushed against my lips and I let out a small gasp as I opened my mouth wide, letting his tongue mingle with my own. It felt so good, and I couldn’t get enough of it.

“Let’s cut the bullshit. Head upstairs,” he said.

I nodded, following right behind him. I did get a small glance at his house. It was huge, with cathedral ceilings, a large living room with a surround sound system that looked barely used, and a beautiful set of decor that I certainly wanted to look at later on. But for now, my mind was focused on one thing only.

When we got to the bedroom, he picked me up and placed me on the bed. I hit the mattress with a small thump, realizing how soft it was. I was splayed out in front of him and he gasped, looking me over.

“Goddamn, you look beautiful,” he admitted.

  “Thank you,” I purred.

His lips cascaded down my body, touching the very edge of my neck and kissing it slightly. I shivered as he did this, enjoying the feeling of it. His lips moved further down my body, lightly nibbling at my flesh until he got to my collarbone, where he bit a little harder. I let out a gasp, my hips thrusting upwards at the sudden sensation.

He moved his hands to my dress, pulling it off of my body to reveal my large breasts. He touched them with his hands, caressing and teasing them. He pinched the tips of my nipples, making me cry out with pure, unadulterated delight as he looked at me with a rapturous need. With every touch of my breasts, every pinch of my nipples, and every flick of his tongue, I could feel my need for him growing even more, the heightened desire for him overtaking me.

I craved him, and I knew that he craved me as well. His hands continued to tease as they moved down towards my vagina rubbing the outside of my panties. I shivered, holding the sheets as he continued to gently rub me, watching me as he moved his hands there. He pressed a bit harder, rubbing against my clitoris as I clung to the sheets, thrashing around. My whole body felt on edge, and I was so close to climax.

As soon as I was about to release, he pulled away.

“Not tonight. Tonight, I want to make you truly feel good,” he said.

I flushed. He was already doing a damn good job of that, but I craved a release. He pushed his hands towards my panties, swiping them off my body to reveal my shaven vagina He lick
ed his lips before plunging into me, licking and savoring every last morsel of me. I shivered, feeling his tongue lap against my clit, sucking on it for a brief moment before pushing deep inside, his tongue penetrating me.

I loved this. I was losing my mind, feeling every ounce of self-control start to lessen with time. He looked at me with a smirk on his face. His smile was enough to drive me mad. He sucked on me once more, and started to push his tongue inwards, exploring every crevice of me, causing me to slowly lose my mind.

Soon, he slipped his pants off, taking off his jacket and shirt in the process. His hands fumbled with his underwear, pulling it off to reveal his throbbing manhood. I flushed, realizing it was bigger than I anticipated.

  “Are you ready?” he asked.

I blushed, but he noticed the worry in my eyes.

“I’ll prep you a bit more if needed, and I will be gentle,” he offered.

  I nodded, agreeing.

He moved his hands towards my entrance, adding two fingers inside and pumping into me. I moaned, my body reacting immediately to his actions. He added a third finger, filling me up completely. He pushed upwards, and I felt my entire body shake in surprise. I cried out, feeling suddenly enthralled by him. He then pulled away, replacing his fingers with his manhood.

As he pushed in, I grimaced. I didn’t expect to feel so full. I started to feel tears in my eyes, but then he stopped, looking at me with concern.

“Are you sure you want to do this?” he asked.

“Yeah, sorry, you’re just kind of big,” I admitted with a flush.

He laughed, but not before slipping into me completely, making me cry out in sudden surprise. He then pushed himself all the way in, causing me to tense for a moment before relaxing. He pushed in and out, going at a light pace.

At first, I was a bit worried it would hurt, but instead, it felt amazing. I let out a cry, moaning as he pushed deep into me and then pulled out. He looked into my eyes, seeing the pure desire in them.

“You look amazing,” he said, pulling me towards him and kissing me while he thrust into me. I moaned, holding him there as he continued to penetrate me. Soon, he angled his thrusts, causing me to let out a series of cries, shocked by how pleasurable it felt.
